- Tenugui – A Japanese work of art!

Lit. Hand towel in Japanese – has been used in Japan for a long time. During the Heian period (794-1192 AD) it was used as accessories in rituals at Shinto shrines.
The tenugui started to grow in popularity from the Kamakura period (1192-1333 AD) and during the Edo period (1592-1868 AD), as cotton cultivation started in several parts of Japan , tenugui became an everyday necessary item.

- Sensu – Japanese folding fan

The Japanese folding fan was invented in the 6th century Japan and brought to China a century later. The origin of the Sensu is said to be Hiōgi (the folding hand fan) used by the Japanese aristocracy during the Heian period (years 794-1192) as part of their formal dress. These were made of thin slats of Hinoki (Japanese cypress) connected by string or wire.

- Omamori - Japanese good luck charm!

Omamori are Japanese amulets dedicated to particular Shinto deities and can be found at Shinto shrines throughout Japan. The word omamori means honorable protector.
The amulet covering is usually made of cloth and contains written prayers which will bring good luck to the bearer on particular occasions, tasks or ordeals. Omamori are also used to ward off bad luck!
